Mitsui Norin Co., Ltd. will publicly disclose the items listed below, as required under the Law concerning the Protection of Personal Information.

I. Purposes for Use of Personal Information

The Company will use personal information gathered from customers and the personal data it possesses (i.e., the name, gender, age, address, phone number, fax number, e-mail address, occupation, etc., of customers, etc.) for the purposes listed below.

  • Customer Information

    The Company will use personal information in providing information as necessary for discussions related to and fulfillment of contracts and business transactions, to introduce products and services provided by the Company, and for other purposes that fall within the scope of the Company’s business objectives as it deems appropriate and beneficial to customers, and in conducting our market surveys and our further marketing activities.

  • Shareholder Information

    Personal information will be used as necessary for work connected with shareholder-corporation relations, to send out IR materials, and to impart information.

  • Information on Entrants to Prize Contests and Campaigns, etc.

    Personal information will be used as necessary to contact entrants and send out products, and for market surveys.

  • Employee Information

    Personal information will be used as necessary for personnel management (personnel includes temporary staff, retirees, etc.), to contact employees in regard to business matters, to administer employee benefits, and to conduct amity activities.

  • Information on Job Applicants

    Personal information will be used as necessary to provide information on employment opportunities, and for hiring (examination of job applicants to select new employees).

  • Information on Amity Groups

    Personal information will be used as necessary to conduct amity activities for group members, and to contact group members about such activities.

II. Provision of Personal Data to Third Parties

Personal information and personal data applicable to any of the cases described below may be disclosed or provided to third parties.

  • When consent is obtained from the customer or other individual in question.
  • When provision of such information to individuals or companies to whom the Company outsources business is necessary to the smooth operation of business described in I above (In this case, the Company will select the individuals or companies with adequate standards of personal information protection, and will appropriately manage the personal information provided to them by prohibiting them to leak or use it for other than the express purposes).
  • When provision of personal information is required by law.
  • When provision of personal information is necessary to prevention or protection of death, human bodily injury, or other properties, and the consent of the person or persons in question is difficult to obtain.
  • When provision of personal information is particularly necessary to improve public health or to promote sound child upbringing, and the consent of the person or persons in question is difficult to obtain.
  • When provision of personal information is necessary to cooperate with government authorities or local municipal entities or the subcontractors they designate to execute business required by law, and obtaining consent of the person or persons in question may possibly be detrimental to the execution of such business.
  • When provision of personal information is approved as necessary in order to protect the rights, assets, or services of Mitsui Norin Co., Ltd. from damage that may possibly result from acts committed by customers or other individuals.

Also note that personal data will be provided to third parties either in writing, by postal mail, fax, or e-mail or other electronic media, etc., and adequate measures will be implemented to ensure safe delivery and receipt. Only the minimum amount of information (name, address, telephone number, etc.) necessary for the purposes described above will be provided.

III. Sharing of Personal Data

Currently, the Company does not share personal data with other companies.

IV. Contact for Inquiries concerning Personal Information

The Company will respond to requests by customers or their representatives in regard to their personal data in the Company’s possession including disclosure, revision of content, additions, deletions, cessation of use, elimination, and cessation of provision to third parties.

  • Requests for Disclosure
    • (1) Requests for disclosure

      Requests for disclosure must be sent by postal mail to the address below. Please enclose all required documents along with the designated request form. It is also recommended that “Request for Disclosure Form Enclosed” be written in red on the envelope.

    • (2) Written documents (and form) to be submitted with requests for disclosure
      A The Company’s designated request form
      *The form can be downloaded from the Company Web site.
      B A document that confirms the identity of the person making the request
      Driver’s license or health insurance card (1 copy)
    • (3) Request for disclosure by a representative of the person in question

      When the request for disclosure is made by a legal representative of a minor or a ward who is of age, or when a representative is entrusted by the person in question to make the request for disclosure, in addition to the documents required in 2) above, the documents below (either A or B) must also be enclosed.

      A Legal representative
      • A document that confirms the identity of the legal representative(1 copy of the family register or, if the representative is a parent, 1 copy of a health insurance card that lists dependent family members)
      B Representative entrusted by the person in question
      • Letter of proxy (1)
      • A document that confirms the identity of the representative (1 copy of the representative’s driver’s license or health insurance card)
    • (4) Fee and method of payment

      A fee of 800 yen will be charged per each request for disclosure (equivalent to the actual postal charge for certified mail). Enclose stamps worth 800 yen along with the request for disclosure.

      * When the fee enclosed is insufficient or when no fee is enclosed, the person making the request will be notified. If payment is not made within the specified period, the request for disclosure will be regarded as waived.

    • (5) Replies to requests for disclosure

      Replies to requests for disclosure will be made in writing and sent by postal mail to the address given on the request form.

    • (6) Use of personal information obtained in connection with requests for disclosure

      Personal information obtained in connection with requests for disclosure will be used only as necessary to fulfill the request, and will be destroyed after the period of time necessary to respond to the request has elapsed.

    • (7) Nondisclosure of personal data possessed by the Company

      Personal data will not be disclosed in the following cases:

      • When the identity of the person in question cannot be confirmed, e.g., when the address on the request form does not match the address on the document confirming the identity of the individual.
      • When the power of representation of the representative acting for the person in question cannot be confirmed.
      • When the specified documents required for requests for disclosure are incomplete.
      • When the information requested for disclosure does not correspond to the personal data possessed by the Company.
      • When there is a possibility that disclosure of the information will cause damage to the death, bodily injury, or other properties of, or the rights or interests enjoyed by the person in question or a third party.
      • When there is a possibility that disclosure of the information will significantly interfere with the appropriate performance of the Company business.
      • When disclosure of the information violates other legal regulations.
  • Requests for revision of content, additions, deletions, cessation of use, elimination, cessation of provision to third parties, and complaints should be addressed to the contacts listed below. No fee is charged.
    • Requests are received between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. (except on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, and during the New Year holidays and summer vacation period.)
    • Please be aware that we are unable to respond to requests from persons who come directly to the Company.

    Also note that requests for revision of content and other requests made by the legal representative of a minor or ward who is of age, or a representative of the person in question require the same procedure as that described in (3) of 1 above.

  • Mitsui Norin Co., Ltd. does not participate in any “Certified Personal Information Protection Organization,” which handles complaints in regard to matters concerning personal information protection.

V. Modifications to Items in this Public Document

Modifications to the items in this public document are subject to revision when deemed necessary to ensure greater protection of customers’ personal information or when required by changes to laws and regulations. Customers will not be notified individually when revisions are made, so it is recommended that customers access this page regularly to keep informed of revisions.
